Benjamin DeFaria is a queer Canadian dance artist, choreographer, and creative/movement director working across live performance, film, photography, and interdisciplinary creation.

He uses dance to explore the intuition and nature of the human body, creating evocative, abstract narratives that invite audiences to encounter nuanced emotions within themselves and through the performer. Grounded in lived experience, his artistic vision emphasizes the distortion of reality through dynamic physicality, visual composition, and multimedia.

Drawing from nature, Benjamin creates sensory worlds that reveal unfamiliar possibilities within familiar human experiences. His work approaches the body as a vessel for energy and expression, and as a source of knowledge- capable of communicating what cannot always be articulated through spoken language.
